Crushed mountains and metal oxides melts together becoming beautiful glazes with variations of colours, crystals and structures.
Developing glazes is a very slow and comprehensive proces. For me, it is also a natural part of trying to create a personal expression.
I´m inspired by nature around me. By the colours, stuctures and atmosphere and in the way the senses are stimulated.
In my glazes I look for the same depths, irregularities and colour variations. They have a kind of transparency without being completely translucent and the micro crystals highlights the marks from hands work. In that way, each ceramic item comes with its own irregularity and history. My glazes a only used by me. I use the chemical processes in the firing to create colors with metallic oxides, because it gives more life to the glaze.
Many of my glazes are named after special places on Falster, which I love to visit. You can read about them below.
